General information

  • Until further notice the TUMCS buildings remain closed to the public and students.
  • Previously, “if possible, please work in the home office” applied; from June 3rd onwards “Corona-related home office only in justified exceptional cases” applies.
  • If several people have their workplace in the same room, an alternating occupation should be aimed for. Your supervisor can set flexible working hours accordingly. You should consult with him/her on this.
  • Emloyees working on campus are required to keep a list of personal contacts at work. This is necessary to facilitate the tracing of any chains of infection. More details have been distributed to every campus employee by mail on May 15th, 2020, 15:00 h and May 28th, 2020, 15:24 h.
  • External persons entering the campus have to be recorded and their contact data forwarded to the administration.
  • Restricted library services are available again. To be able to enter the library, setting up an appointment in advance is mandatory. For more information, regulations and appointments please visit www.ub.tum.de.
  • The Canteen Straubing is closed

When working in university buildings, all possible and conceivable preventive measures and hygiene standards are to be taken into consideration:

  • Wear a mask anywhere (a simple fabric mask, cloth or scarf is sufficient), except you are
    • the only person in a room (office, laboratory, storeroom, seminar room; not counted as room: corridors, foyer, bathrooms)
    • or not alone in a room (office), but the minimum distance of 1.5 m can be maintained at all times
    • or outdoors with a minimum distance of 5 m to the next person
  • A minimum distance of 1.5 m has to be kept anywhere
  • To reduce the risk of infection, regular ventilation of the rooms is important. Please air the rooms in which you are staying for five minutes every 45 minutes.
  • Meetings may be held on site:
    • at all times any person has to keep the minimum distance of 1.5 m to anybody else
    • if the minimum distance can’t be maintained, for example when entering the room, masks have to be weared
    • as soon as everybody is seated, the minimum distance is kept and the room regularly aired (5 minutes every 45 minutes), attendees may take off their masks
    • The seating arrangement must be recorded in a simple sketch
    • Tables and chairs have to be desinfected after use
  • External persons (i.e. contractors) are required to follow the same rules if allowed to enter the Campus
  • in rooms smaller than 20 m² only one person is allowed to stay longer, multiple people are only allowed for short periods, all of them are required to wear masks and keep the minimal distance
  • wash hands frequently and thoroughly

The Campus is organizing desinfectants which will be placed at key points. Additionally, special care will be taken to keep soap dispensers replenished.

If showing symptoms:

  • Employees with COVID-19-like symptoms are requested to leave the premises immediately or stay at home.
  • Affected persons should immediately contact a doctor or the public health department by telephone for clarification.
  • In case of confirmed infections, contact to persons with confirmed infections or occurrence of signs of illness after returning from abroad, the TUM crisis team Coronavirus must be informed immediately at krisenstab-coronavirus@tum.de. At the same time, please inform your supervisor and the rectorate (rektorat@cs.tum.de).
