On June 11th, 2024 the European Innovation Council and Small and Medium Enterprises Agency (EISMEA) funded project ECOMO (https://www.ecomo-eic.eu) organized a symposium titled “Carbon and Nitrogen Valorization: Sustainability in Focus”. The symposium was hosted by Dr. Hemlata Agarwala and Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Nicolas Plumeré from the Professorship of Electrobiotechnology (EBT).

On June 6 and 7, a workshop on “Biological Materials Science” took place at the TUM Campus Straubing (TUMCS). The international workshop with exclusively invited, top-class speakers with a focus on biogenic, bioinspired, biomimetic and biohybrid materials for innovative optical, photonics and optoelectronics applications was organized by Prof. Cordt Zollfrank (Chair of Biogenic Polymers) and Prof. Rubén D. Costa (Chair of Biogenic Functional Materials).

Last Thursday, a delegation from Cornell University and SUNY College visited the TUM Campus Straubing (TUMCS). Prof. Dominik Grimm and Prof. Volker Sieber welcomed Dr. Jillian Goldfarb (Cornell University) and Dr. Tristan Brown (SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry) to the Campus for Biotechnology and Sustainability and explained TUMCS’ unique focus on the bioeconomy.
