The workshop aimed at fostering technical discussions and interactions between scientists from both theoretical and practical backgrounds. In addition to participants from Germany, researchers from Norway, Denmark, the UK, France, Austria, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, Australia, and New Zealand were also present. The workshop demonstrated the rising importance of multi-objective optimization in various fields of application such as energy planning, logistics, production control, and sustainable resource management.
This year's program featured a total of 14 academic presentations followed by discussions on various aspects of multi-objective optimization. Prof. Dr. Oliver Stein started the program with his presentation on “Branch-and-bound in multiobjective mixed-integer nonlinear optimization.” The following day was opened by Prof. Dr. Sophie Parragh, who presented her research on “Tailored and generic algorithms for integer and mixed-integer multi-objective optimization.”
At the end of the first day, Prof. Dr. Clemens Thielen took the participants on a tour through Straubing's historic city center before the evening concluded with lively discussions at a joint conference dinner.
There is already great anticipation for the next RAMOO workshop, which is set to take place next year in its 13th edition.
