An international research cooperation to develop the Forest Bioeconomy in Uruguay and Germany is being coordinated at the TUM Straubing Campus. The cooperation agreement was recently signed in Montevideo with the Uruguayan research partners (seated from left: Jose Bonica, President INIA; Gaston Martinez, Director of Forestry MGAP; Prof. Dr. Hubert Röder, HSWT/TUMCS; Ruperto Long, Director of Latitud; Verena Frick, German Embassy Montevideo). The project will investigate selected tree species for the reforestation of mixed forests in Uruguay and for the enrichment of the tree species portfolio in Germany to increase biodiversity and raw material supply for the sustainable development of the Forest Bioeconomy cluster in both countries. The research project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (FKZ: 2223NR031A).
