Japanese researchers visit TUMCS

Last week, scientists from the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) visited the TUM Campus Straubing (TUMCS) to learn about research and teaching at TUM’s sustainability campus. The eleven-member Japanese delegation was welcomed to TUMCS on Tuesday, 17 March by Prof. Rubén D. Costa.

Various presentations took place during the morning – delivered by researchers from both TUAT and TUMCS. Speaking on behalf of the TUM Campus were Prof. Cordt Zollfrank, Prof. Wenwen Fang and Prof. Magnus Fröhling, who presented the “CirculaTUM” network. After a lunch break, further presentations followed in the afternoon, also involving TUMCS (Prof. Erich Glawischnig, Prof. Bastian Blombach, Prof. Rubén Costa, Dr Thomas Kinateder). The day concluded with a dinner at the “Röhrl” inn in Straubing city centre.

On Wednesday, 18 March, Jonathan Schandl presented TUM’s sustainability strategy, followed by a campus tour led by Olivia Chia-Leeson and Dr Marina Zapilko. After lunch, the Japanese delegation visited the NAWAREUM before the group set off for the Freising campus.
