We are happy to announce that our article “Product-Oriented Time Window Assignment for a Multi-Compartment Vehicle Routing Problem” was accepted for publication in the European Journal of Operational Research (VHB: A).
The article examines the introduction of product-specific time windows in the distribution planning. It considers multiple planning periods and determines consistent time windows for the delivery of different product categories with multi-compartment vehicles. In this way, it enables a well-balanced supply of stores with different product categories and thus supports the planning of in-store operations.

At the campus in Straubing we are proud that Prof. Dr. Alexander Hübner, Chair of Supply and Value Chain Management, is one of the 100 best business economists in German-speaking countries. “Really cool” student trip to the EDEKA logistics center Straubing

“This is how it must feel in Siberia every day”, one of the TUM students stated after entering the -23 degree centigrades frozen food warehouse area at the EDEKA logistics center Straubing. 40 students of the Master’s program „Business Economics of Biogenic Resources“ visited the warehouse complex on December 5th for a very special field trip. Together with two research associates from Prof. Dr. Alexander Hübner’s Chair of Supply and Value Chain Management, they could take an insight look at a grocery retail warehouse and speak to an industry expert in the field of logistics.
