Twelve young researchers at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) – including Prof. Niederholtmeyer, a new professor at the TUM Straubing Campus – have received ERC Starting Grants from the European Research Council (ERC).

Olivia Mrozinski is studying towards a Bachelor’s in Technology of Biogenic Resources at the TUM Straubing campus. She and two classmates recently became three of 15 EU Youth Ambassadors for Bioeconomy. Their objective is among other things to sensitize the European Commission for sustainable transformation in society and the economy.

A systematic review paper on consumer response to bio-based products has been published by members of Chair of Marketing and Management of Biogenic Resources at TUM Campus Straubing. Around 200 participants from all over the world learned about current developments in the bioeconomy at the three-day symposium “Key Technologies in the Bioeconomy – A Global Bioeconomy Alliance Conference” at the TUM Campus Straubing (TUMCS) for Biotechnology and Sustainability at the end of September. The organisation of the conference under the slogan “KTB2022” was taken over by the TUMCS under the leadership of Rector Prof Volker Sieber and Prof Bastian Blombach.

Around 40 students spanning from 7 to 11 course of Johannes-Turmair-Gymnasium visited our Chair (Biogenic Functional Materials) at TUM Campus Straubing. Their curiosity was amazingly fresh.

In the frame of the European Climate Pact and the Bürgerstiftung Straubing, the Chair for Biogenic Functional Materials participated in the KinderUni Straubing initiative with a lecture about “How Nature produces its own light”.
